The Client: i-glass www.iglass.co.uk The Brief: to create a new range of tiles that introduce a product previously unavailable into the market to meet the interests of a design conscious consumer, as well as architects, interior designers and commercial specifiers.
It was important to utilise the specialist glass expertise and technology of i-glass - the new design-brand of Instrument Glasses - the leading UK glass specialists.
I designed 'our-glass' - a form that echo's my original hallmark and fused tableware designs. These tiles utilise water-jet cutting techniques - that make a sculptural deviation away from the square tile and into form - technically achievable and economically viable - giving an 'opulent-modernist' edge to the standard glass tile.
The main tiles combine with inserts which can be laid two ways, offering a choice of two tessellating patterns: Crossways or Cascade - in either horizontal or vertical alignment.
